AlHijjah 5, 1433, Oct 21, 2012, SPA -- A string of slight earthquakes have stricken northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region on Sunday. A 4.6-magnitude earthquake jolted Turpan, in eastern part of Xinjiang, at 12:09 p.m. Sunday Beijing Time, the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC) said. The epicenter, with a depth of five km, was determined to be at 43.4degrees north latitude and 89.3 degrees east longitude, the center said. Also, a 3-magnitude earthquakes hit Urumqi, the regional capital, at 8:05 a.m. Sunday and one 3.2-magnitude quake jolted Changji city, near Urumqi, at 11:24 a.m. The epicenter of the two quakes were 11 km and seven km deep respectively, Xinhua quoted the CENC as saying. No casualty has been reported yet.
