Hijjah 2, 1433, October 18, 2012, SPA -- Laos has approved a 7-billion-dollar project to build a high-speed railway link with China to be financed by a Chinese loan, state media reports said Friday according to dpa. The approval was won at an extraordinary session of the National Assembly on Thursday, the Vientiane Times reported. A ground-breaking ceremony for the project is expected to take place during the 9th Asia-Europe Meeting summit. It will be hosted by Vientiane on November 5-6, drawing heads of state from the 46-membergrouping to the Lao capital, the state-run newspaper said.
