AlQa'dah 30, 1433, Oct 16, 2012, SPA - The Secretary General of King Fahd Complex for Printing the Holy Quran in Madinah Dr Mohammed Salem bin Shadid Al-Awfi has expressed his thanks to and appreciation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and the Crown Prince, for their generous and continuous support for the Complex. In a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), he said that the Complex has published more than 270 million copies of the Holy Quran, its translation, and books of Prophetic Sunnah since its inception in 1405 AH. He indicated that in implementation of the King's directives to provide every pilgrim with a copy of the Holy Quran as a King's gift, the Complex distributes annually 1.8 million copies of the Holy Quran and its translation, noting that the Complex has so far provided pilgrims with 34 million copies.
