King Fahd Complex for the Printing of the Holy Qur'an, the world's largest Holy Qur'an press, receives over 3000 visitors a day during the month of Ramadan, said Muhammad Salem Al-Awfi, secretary general of the complex. Since it opened its doors to visitors, the complex has distributed 25 million copies of the Qur'an to visitors, he said. The complex is supported by a cohort of high authorities and commissions including the Complex High Commission headed by the Minister of Islamic Affairs to set policies and plans, the Scholarly Board to scrupulously check every page of the master copy, a committee to review the recited Qur'an in audio, the Translation Center, the Qur'anic Studies center and the Sunnah services Center, Al-Awfi said. The complex employs more than 1700 workers, mostly Saudis, at this 250,000 square meters facility, he added. The complex produces and distributes an average of 10 million copies of the Qur'an every year. It also produces the Qur'an translated into 47 languages. Since its start, the complex has printed and distributed over 220 million copies of the Holy Qur'an, Al-Awfi said.
