AlQa'dah 28, 1433, Oct 14, 2012, SPA -- The Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) won early parliamentary elections in Montenegro Sunday and were set to extend their reign of more than two decades, initial projections showed, dpa reported. But the coalition led by DPS apparently fell short of grabbing enough votes to govern without outside partners. According to a projection by the CEMI polling agency, the DPS won 38 out of the 81seats in the new parliament. The new Democratic Front leads the opposition with 20 seats, according to the projections. It finished ahead of the Socialist People's Party, which won nine, and another newcomer, the Positive Montenegro with seven. The party of Bosniaks will have three, while three other ethnic parties will have one seat each. One seat remained unaccounted for. Final results could show a change, but the trend is not expected to be different. The DPS is expected to secure a majority with the minority representatives, the leader of the Positive Montenegro, DarkoPajovic, conceded in a press conference. The turnout was high at nearly 70 per cent, from an electorate of some 512,000 voters.
