AlQa'dah 19, 1433, Oct 5, 2012, SPA -- Mayor of Berlin Claus Wowereit highlighted the high profile of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Prize for Translation, noting its important and effective role in increasing general awareness of the importance of translation arts in the transference of knowledge and cultures communications. In a statement to mark the giving away ceremony of the prize this year which will be held in Berlin soon, he said his city is the most appropriate site for announcing the prize as it is an open city for all cultures, noting that its population belong to more than 180 countries and cultures. He said the prize is carrying the name of a Saudi leader who attaches great importance to the role of translation in transference of science, knowledge and cultures. He expected that the prize would contribute to the spread of Arab German translation and exchange.
