AlQa'dah 9, 1433, Sep 25, 2012, SPA -- Jordanian Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Abdul Salam Abbadi condemned Jewish extremists and rabbis for storming Al Aqsa under the protection of the Israeli police. He said that such acts, which have increased during the Jewish holiday seasons, are an attempt by the Israeli occupation authorities to create a new reality in Al Aqsa Mosque as they did in Al Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron. Abbadi called Israel's continued excavation near Bab Al Magharebah Gate in occupied Jerusalem arrogant and unacceptable, pointing to many protests made by the Jordanian Foreign Ministry on this issue. Abbadi said that the continuation of Israeli excavations around Al Aqsa Mosque and the demolition of Palestinian houses in Silwan, south of Al Aqsa Mosque, constitute a flagrant violation of international legitimacy, the 1949 4th Geneva Convention and the 1954 Hague Convention. The minister urged the Arab and Islamic nations to shoulder their responsibilities towards Al Aqsa Mosque. He also urged the UN and its agencies, mainly the UNESCO, to pressure Israel to end its continued violations against Al Aqsa Mosque.
