AlQa'dah 4, 1433, Sep 20, 2012, SPA -- President Van Rompuy of the European Union (EU) met here today with Speaker of the Shura Council of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al-Shiekh, who is also head of the GCC delegation to the European parliament. During the meeting, the EU president lauded the step of the GCC Member States to move from the phase of cooperation to the phase of union. They also discussed issues of common interest at regional and international arenas. They also reviewed aspects of cooperation between the two sides in all fields. Meanwhile, the Speaker of Majlis Al-Shura also met here today with Secretary General of European External Action Service Pierre Vimont in presence of Dr. Khalid bin Hilal Al-Mewali, Speaker of Oman's Majlis Al-Shura. During the meeting, they discussed issues of common interest in addition to the latest developments at regional and international arenas.
