AlQa'dah 04, 1433, September 20, 2012, SPA -- A number of officials, citizens, and foreign organizations have expressed pleasure of celebrating the 82nd anniversary of the National Day of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia which falls on Sunday, September 23, 2012. In remarks to the local media today and late last night, they celebrated the brave and wise step taken over years of struggle and dedicated work by founder of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia late King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud. He announced the unification of the continent-like Kingdom on September 23, 2012. They also lauded the achievements, particularly on the development arena, of his successors, King Saud bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, King Faisal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, King Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, King Fahd bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and the current King, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and his Crown Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense who is acting as Vice Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques these days due to the absence of the monarch who is on a private vacation outside the Kingdom. The unprecedented renaissance which was witnessed by the Kingdom over the last eight decades, thanks to the prudent economic and social policies of the Saudi consecutive kings was also praised by well-wishers. They cited uncountable reforms taken by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud since he assumed the throne following the death of his predecessor King Fahd bin Abdulaziz Al Saud in 2005. They described the Kingdom as among the world's most stable, speedily developing countries, thanks to the application of Sharia law and following an advanced and modern way of developing the country. Being the world's largest producer and exporter of oil, Saudi Arabia is among the most influential countries in the industry of world order, stability and security, they said. A report on the occasion said that the transport authorities have constructed and built roads measuring 247 kilometers in Jazan Region at the cost of SR1.8 billion and the Social Insurance authority in Riyadh has admitted more than six million citizens and expatriates in the social insurance system through more than 328 insuring facilities up to May 2012.
