AlQa'dah 2, 1433, Sep 18, 2012, SPA - The worst storm in two decades to strike Russia's Far Eastern provinces caused massive flooding and cut hundreds of homes and businesses off from electricity, weather service officials said on Tuesday. Typhoon Sanba dumped as much as 1.27 metres of water over a 24-hour period at some locations around the Pacific Ocean port city Vladivostok, some 6,400 kilometres east of the capital Moscow, weather service spokeswoman Varvara Koridze told news agency RIA Novosti. High winds downed power lines, leaving more than 1,300 people without electricity, and flooding closed more than a dozen streets in Vladivostok, a city hall statement said.
