Wildfires in the northwestern United States forced more residents to evacuate their homes in several states Tuesday, fire officials said. According to authorities, seven homes have burned and hundreds of people have been evacuated near Casper, Wyoming, where a blaze burned almost 62 square kilometers. In western Montana, firefighters say there is no containment in sight for a fire that has prompted evacuation orders for 400 homes west of Hamilton. Fire crews in eastern Washington were met with less wind, making them hopeful that they can gain ground on a number of fires sparked by lightning storms over the weekend. However, more evacuation orders were issued Tuesday, as a blaze spread in the hills west of Wenatchee. Nearly 120 homes were vacated roughly 225 kilometers east of Seattle due to a fire.
