Under the patronage of Prince Ahmed bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Interior, the Commission of Investigation and Public Prosecution in collaboration with Financial Action Group for the Middle East and North Africa organized here today the symposium entitled "The role and responsibility of public prosecution and judicial bodies in combating money laundering and financing of terrorism" with the participation of representatives of Arab and foreign countries. Addressing the symposium, the Commission's Chairman Sheikh Mohammed bin Fahd Al Abdullah said in his inaugural speech that the Prince's patronage of the symposium confirms the Kingdom's leading role in combating organized crimes, especially money laundering and financing of terrorism, and its keenness on cooperating with regional and international bodies to confront this type of crimes. He pointed out that the Kingdom occupies a leading position in the field of combating money laundering and financing of terrorism , noting that it ranks the first at Arab level and the tenth at the level of the Group of Twenty, according to reports and specialized international classifications in this area.
