A magnitude-7.4 earthquake took place in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of El Salvador early Monday, the United States Geological Survey said. There were no immediate reports of damage from the quake, according to a report of dpa. The epicentre was about 110 kilometres from the city of Puerto El Triunfo at a depth of 53 kilometres. A tsunami warning was issued as a precaution for El Salvador, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, Guatemala, Panama and Mexico.
