The United Nations' top envoy for Iraq Friday strongly condemned a wave of deadly attacks that have left dozens dead and hundreds more wounded across the country. A series of deadly bombings and shootings Thursday left more than 70 people dead, with the deadliest incident occurring just before midnight when a car bomb killed 16 people outside a Baghdad ice cream shop, according to media reports. “I am appalled at the wave of heinous attacks that shook the country throughout the day yesterday," said Martin Kobler, the U.N. special representative for Iraq.
