The U.N. mission in Iraq on Monday strongly condemned the wave of attacks that began Sunday across the country, killing nearly 100 people and injuring many more. "I strongly condemn the heinous attacks and the senseless violence and bloodshed across the country," the U.N. secretary-general's deputy special representative, Gyorgy Busztin, said in a statement from the U.N. Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI). "The criminals who perpetrated these attacks must be held to account," Busztin wrote. A coordinated series of bombings and shootings in 13 cities, including Baghdad, targeting security forces and government officials killed at least 91 people and injured almost 200 more, according to various media reports.
