Eight people died in an attack on a nightclub in northern Mexico, authorities said Tuesday according to dpa. Jorge Domene, security spokesman for the state of Nuevo Leon, said the attack happened late Monday in the city of Monterrey, Mexico's industrial power house. A commando group, allegedly from the Gulf Cartel, arrived in four vehicles and indiscriminately opened fire in and out of the club, Matehuala, in central Monterrey, 900 kilometres north of Mexico City. An eyewitness said he saw six people go into the club and shoot while they shouted that they belonged to the Gulf Cartel, Domene noted.
