Poland wants to build a missile defence shield with France, Germany and other allies, dpa quoted Defence Minister Tomasz Siemoniak as saying Saturday. "We really want for this to be in cooperation with France, Germany and our other allies," Siemoniak told the Polish Press Agency. "NATO very much supports initiatives that aim for countries to build together certain defence capabilities, that is so-called smart defence. On such expensive projects, such co-work is crucial." Poland has said it would build its own missile defence shield in the next decade from the Defence Ministry budget. Poland's shield would be part of a NATO system, but would not mean Warsaw would abandon building the US missile defence missile shield, National Security Bureau officials have said.
