A Spanish judge on Sunday sent two Russians into custody over suspicions of belonging to a terrorist group and plotting a terrorist attack, dpa reported. Both will remain in jail until a date is set for further judicial proceedings. The two men from Chechnya were detained last week for allegedly planning to use explosives to mount an attack in Spain or elsewhere in Europe, Interior Minister Jorge Fernandez Diaz said then. Judge Pablo Ruz on Sunday sent the two into custody for suspected membership in a terrorist group. On Friday, Ruz had given police 48 hours to provide evidence for their detention. The third, a Turkish suspect, was detained in La Linea de laConcepcion near Cadiz. The house where he was staying contained enough explosives to blow up a bus, Fernandez said. He was charged on Friday for possessing explosives. The two Russians were caught when their bus made a stopover near the southern-central city of Ciudad Real on Wednesday. The bus was travelling from Cadiz to Irun on the French border, and police suspected they were on their way to France.
