The unemployment rate in the 17-member eurozone rose was unchanged in June, but the number of people unemployed hit a record, UPI quoted Eurostat as saying Tuesday. With the jobless rate for May in the eurozone revised from 11.1 percent to 11.2 percent, the rate remained unchanged in June. However, the statistics office for the European Union said 17.801 million people were out of work in the eurozone, a gain of 123,000 from May.
