Official figures show unemployment across the economy of the 17 countries that use the euro hit a record high in June, according to a report of the Associated Press. Eurostat, the EU's statistics office, says Tuesday that eurozone unemployment in June was 11.2 percent, unchanged from the previous month's upwardly-revised rate. May's rate had originally been estimated at a then record high of 11.1 percent. Mario Draghi, the European Central Bank's president, indicated last week that new measures are imminent. Ahead of Thursday's ECB meeting, Eurostat also says inflation was unchanged at 2.4 percent in July.
