An Afghan official and his son were killed Sunday in an attack claimed by Taliban in central Afghanistan, a government spokesman said. "Ismael Wafa, the district governor for Chak district, Wardak province, was heading to his office along with his son when a group of Taliban insurgents opened fire on his vehicle, killing him and injuring his son," said Shahidullah Shahid, the provincial governor's spokesman. Wafa's son died on the way to a NATO military hospital, Shahid was quoted as saying by DPA. The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack.
