In remarks to highlight the anniversary of Egypt's 1952 July Revolution which falls tomorrow, Egyptian incumbent leaders confirmed that it was a turning point in Egypt's contemporary history, citing that it has constituted for the country's first republic. In a speech to the Egyptian people, President Dr. Mohammed Morsi of the Republic said July Revolution leaders were successful to achieve parts of the six-goal revolution and fell short of others, citing the failure to achieve democracy and freedom of the people. He said Egypt's second revolution of January 25, 2011 was complementary to July 23, 1952 revolution. For its part, the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces lauded the achievements of July 23 Revolution, calling for solidarity and reconciliation of all Egyptians to achieve the objectives of January 25 revolution.
