Arish, Egypt , Sha'ban 26, 1433, July 16, 2012, SPA -- Two US tourists were released Monday in Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, three days following their abduction, a security official said according to dpa. The tourists, who were on their way to Cairo, were taken hostage on Friday when the kidnappers stopped their car, near the town of Nakhl in central Sinai, and took them to an unknown location. An Egyptian tour guide, who had been seized with them, was also released, the official said. They were handed to the Northern Sinai Province Security Department. The assailants were demanding the release of a relative sentenced to 25 years in prison on charges of drug dealing.
