A person who was injured in a scaffold collapse that occurred Tuesday in Beijing has died in a local hospital, bringing the death toll for the accident to three, the local government said. The scaffold, erected around a sculpture inside an art workshop in the village of Xianrendong in Changping district, collapsed at 2:40 p.m., injuring 20 people, Xinhua quoted a district government official as saying. Two of the people died at the scene, while the other 18 were taken to a local hospital. Eleven of the injured have been discharged thus far, the official said. The district government has set up an investigatory panel to find out how the accident happened.
