Hurricane Daniel grew stronger Saturday as it moved out into the Pacific and away from the coast of Mexico, the National Hurricane Center in Miami said. At 8 a.m. PDT, the storm was about 820 miles southwest of the tip of Baja California and heading west at 13 mph. The center said no coastal watches or warnings were in effect. Maximum sustained winds were 85 mph, with hurricane-force winds extending 25 miles from the center. Tropical storm winds extended up to 105 miles out, UPI reported. Forecasters said Daniel was not expected to change much in strength Saturday and to begin weakening Sunday as it passed over cooler water. Daniel formed Friday.
