Prince Sultan Bin Salman Bin Abdul-Aziz, President of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA), will be one of the main speakers at the 3rd International Architectural Conservation Conference and Exhibition. The expo will be held in Dubai from Dec. 17 to 19. “We have received over 130 research papers from 31 countries and the call of submissions has now been closed. The scientific steering committee is now assessing all submissions and will contact applicants next month," a top organizing committee official said yesterday in a press statement published today. Well-known international experts in the field of conservation-restoration will participate in the event to exchange expertise and new strategies for conserving historical zones and buildings, protecting heritage sites and developing urban landscape in a sustainable manner. The conference will discuss policies, strategies and decision-making in historic environment, economics of conservation and sustainable environment, cultural development and awareness, management of cultural heritage in historic areas, and project implementation and practical aspects of urban conservation.
