A suicide bomber blew himself up at a Somali military checkpoint Saturday, injuring a nearby soldier and two civilians, a senior security official told dpa. "A car laden (with) explosives attempted to enter inside a compound at the Baar Ismail checkpoint in Afgoye," said the official, who asked not to be named. He said a soldier tried to stop a suspicious vehicle but the driver ignored his order. "Government soldiers around the area fired at the car ... which then exploded and that caused the death of attacker, while wounding one government soldier and two civilians," the official added.
