The Secretary General of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) States, Dr. Abdul-Latif bin Rashid Al -Zayani has stressed the interest of GCC States in supporting scientific and technological research projects, promotion of creativity and innovation to enhance the concept of knowledge-based economy, and investment of intellectual property rights, including patents for sustainable development . This came in a statement delivered by Al-Zayani during his attendance of first training program on patents, currently in progress at the GCC headquarters, organized by GCC Training Center of Intellectual Property in collaboration with World Intellectual Property Academy and the Office of Patents and Trademarks of the Administration of the United States of America. He explained that this program is the result of fruitful and constructive cooperation between the U.S. Administration and GCC States.
