Italy's Foreign Minister Julio Tierce met here today with his French counterpart Laurent Fabius, currently on a visit to Italy. The two ministers confirmed their support for UN/AL joint envoy Kofi Annan's plan to solve the crisis in Syria, asserting that pressures should be intensified on the Syrian Regime and to reinforce UN mission presence there, according to Italy's press agency, AKI. For his part, the French Minister said that the next coming meeting of the Group of the Friends of Syrian People will be convened in Paris, in early July and that Italy is too close to the French analysis, in this respect. -- SPA
