The Minister of Culture and Information, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Gulf Radio and TV Organization, Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohieddin Khoja, chaired here today the Board's 9th meeting. Addressing the meeting, the Minister said, "There is no doubt that information, in general, is playing today an important role around the world in following up issues and reporting events, especially with the emergence of new media. I wish that our colleagues will take the rapid leap of modern technologies and new media." The Board's members congratulated the Minister of Culture and Information on the issuance of the royal approval to transfer radio, television, and Saudi Press Agency (SPA) to general commissions, stressing that this is a quantum high leap to keep abreast with development and modernization of information at various levels. The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Abdullah Al-Jasser and a number of officials.
