U.S. stocks finished higher on Tuesday, as investors welcomed a lack of negative headlines out of Europe and hopes that China will move to support its economy. In world markets, European stocks ended higher, led by the CAC 40 in France rising 1.3 percent. Asian markets also ended higher led by the Shanghai Composite rising 1.2 percent. The Dow Jones industrial average rose 125.86, or 1.0 percent, to 12,580.69. The broader Standard & Poor's 500 index rose 14.6, or 1.1 percent, to 1,332.42. The technology-heavy Nasdaq composite index rose 33.46, or 1.2 percent, to 2,870.99.
