Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), has called for convening an urgent Arab League meeting to discuss Al-Hola massacre, a suburb of the Syrian City of Homs, which claimed the lives of over 106 Syrian civilians. "The targeting of the civilians could not be condoned as it is a violation to our humanity, and signifies the tragic failure of our collective Arab and international efforts to put an end to the violence against the civilians in Syria," Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed added. The UAE Foreign Minister had made two telephone calls with both The Joint Special Envoy of the United Nations and the Arab League for Syria Kofi Annan and the Secretary General of the Arab League Dr. Nabil Al Arabi to discuss the repercussions of the massacre.
