Terror suspects' trial to begin soon – Naif
Saudi Gazette report
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 23 - 06 - 2008

The trial of terror suspects would start soon, Prince Naif Bin Abdul Aziz, Interior Minister, has said. “God willing, the trial will start soon as we have been informed by the Justice Ministry,” he said.
Addressing a press conference here Saturday night after patronizing a graduation ceremony at Naif Arab University for Security Sciences, the Interior Minister said it was wrong to suggest that security forces have been successful in eliminating Al-Qaeda from the Kingdom.
The threat is still there even though the Kingdom has achieved a lot in this respect and many destabilization plots were thwarted, he said.
Prince Naif said the media has been found to be wanting as far as serving the cause of Arab security.
This is despite the fact that Arab interior and information ministers have agreed to coordinate and cooperate in confronting the deviant forces, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said.
As long as there are sources of terrorism, the nefarious activities of militants will continue, he said adding that there was no joint strategy at Arab and international levels for drying up sources of terrorism.
On recent arrests of some Bahrainis in the Kingdom, Prince Naif said the incident has been blown out of proportion by some media outlets and on Internet.
The Interior Minister hailed the existing cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Bahrain and said: “We shouldn't rule out the possibility of stopping a Saudi in Bahrain and the vice versa, but we work as a one organ. Matters are still in the stage of accusation and investigation.
The reality will appear but without exaggerations.”
Prince Naif urged the youth to shoulder their responsibilities in the development of the country. Congratulating fresh graduates Prince Naif hoped that they contribute positively in service of their society. __
