WASHINGTON: A Shoura Council delegation led by Engineer Osama Bin Muhammed Al-Kurdi, who is also Chairman of the Saudi-American Parliamentary Friendship Committee, met here Friday with members of the United States Senate. During the meeting, they discussed issues of common interest and reviewed bilateral relations between the countries. They also discussed ways to enhance cooperation in all fields and boost parliamentary relations between the Shoura Council and US Congress. The Shoura delegation also met with a number of officials at the US Department of Commerce to discuss investment and trade issues and how to enhance economic cooperation between the two countries. The delegation also visited the Institute for Middle East Studies and met a number of US intellectuals and opinion makers. They visited the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) and met with advisers, political analysts and experts in the field of strategic studies. They exchanged views on Middle East and international developments. The Saudi Embassy in the United States held a dinner party in honor of the Shoura Council delegation which was attended by members of the diplomatic corps and embassy officials.
