CAIRO: Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs Nabil Al-Araby, received here Saturday Ahmad Abdul Aziz Qattan, the Saudi Ambassador to the Arab Republic of Egypt and the permanent representative of Saudi Arabia to the Arab League, who presented him a copy of his diplomatic credentials. In a press statement after the meeting, Qattan reiterated his commitment to the directives of King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the Crown Prince and the Second Deputy Premier, to enhance Saudi-Egyptian relations and to serve Saudi nationals in the country. Qattan said: “The Saudi Embassy in Egypt is home for all Saudis whether they are visitors, residents or students. It is our duty to open our hearts, minds and doors for them and respond to their demands. We should listen to their complaints.” He said he will exert every effort to develop the already strong relations between the two countries, including encouraging investments and trade and facilitating matters for Saudi and Egyptian businessmen. He said he is very aware of the services and facilities the embassy should provide to Egyptian Umrah performers and Haj pilgrims. He said he will arrange a weekly meeting for Saudi students, businessmen and visitors with heads of departments and sections of the embassy, to hear their views and complaints. He said he will deal strictly with employees in the embassy who do not fulfill their duties toward Saudi citizens and prevent them from meeting him.
