Manchester United's Javier Hernandez celebrates after scoring during their English Premier League soccer match against Wigan Athletic in Wigan Saturday. (Reuters) LONDON: Javier Hernandez helped Manchester United re-establish a four-point lead over Arsenal in the Premier League title race by scoring twice in a 4-0 victory at Wigan Saturday. The Mexico striker turned in Nani's low cross after 17 minutes and completed a one-two with Wayne Rooney in the 74th to take his tally for the season to 12 goals. Late goals from Rooney and defender Fabio da Silva wrapped up a comprehensive victory ahead of United's matches against Chelsea Tuesday and Liverpool the following Sunday. “There are big games ahead and it's a good start,” United manager Alex Ferguson said. “To win 4-0 away from home at a place like Wigan is very good ... it's an acid test going to Chelsea and Liverpool.” United has now played the same number of games as the rest of the top four. Second-place Arsenal contests the League Cup final against Birmingham Sunday when Manchester City hosts Fulham in the league. Tottenham and Chelsea, who occupy fourth and fifth, have the weekend off because they were due to play the League Cup finalists. In the battle against relegation, Wolverhampton Wanderers climbed off the bottom and out of the drop zone with a 4-0 victory over Blackpool. Wolverhampton's match was overshadowed by the death of former defender Dean Richards at the age of 36 on Saturday morning. Richards, who made 145 appearances for Wolves between 1995 and 2001, died after a long illness. Victories for Aston Villa and Everton put them five points further clear of the relegation zone. Following a scoreless first half, Ashley Young scored twice as Villa beat Blackburn 4-1. At Goodison Park, Jermaine Beckford emulated Young's double to secure Everton's 2-0 win over Sunderland. The first goal was deflected into the net by Sunderland defender Titus Bramble and the Beckford added another before halftime with a scuffed finish from Mikel Arteta's cross. Seventh-place Bolton was held to a 1-1 draw at Newcastle, which is a point and two places lower down in the standings. Atletico rallies for draw Atletico Madrid twice rallied to secure a 2-2 draw against Sevilla and Espanyol beat Real Sociedad 4-1 to end a four-game losing streak in the Spanish League. Espanyol provisionally moved into fifth – two points ahead of Athletic Bilbao and five better than Sevilla. Also, Sporting Gijon and Zaragoza drew 0-0. Dortmund routs Bayern Borussia Dortmund crushed champion Bayern Munich 3-1 away on Saturday to march 13 points clear at top of the Bundesliga. The host has dropped to fourth and is 16 adrift of Dortmund which is 58 points with second-placed Bayer Leverkusen, on 45. Lukas Podolski's late winner earned Cologne a 1-0 win over Freiburg. Christian Schulz scored in the last minute as Hannover won 1-0 at St. Pauli. Hannover moves third. Elsewhere, Mainz won 2-1 at Hoffenheim, Kaiserslautern drew 1-1 with Hamburger SV, and Raul Gonzalez equalized to earn Schalke a 1-1 draw at home to Nuremberg.
