RIYADH: A trade delegation from the Saudi Business Council at the Saudi Council of Chambers of Commerce and Industry begins Monday a three-day visit to India to discuss investment opportunities. The delegation, which is made up of senior representatives, will look at opportunities in a range of fields and how to improve cooperation and partnerships between Saudi and Indian businessmen. Abdul Rahman Al-Rabi'a, Chairman of the Saudi Business Council, said Sunday that the Saudi delegation comprises businesspeople from the trade, industry and engineering sectors, and that a series of meetings would be held in the capital, New Delhi. “They will be meeting with Indian partners known for their accomplishments and technical abilities in order to look into ways of cooperation with them in construction projects, industry and engineering consultations, as well as joint investments,” he said. “There are a lot of good investment opportunities available in the Kingdom as well as a good investment climate, and a market which is the biggest in the Mideast region.” Al-Rabi'a said the exchange visit program saw last year three trade delegations from India coming to the Kingdom with representatives from various economic sectors which discussed investment opportunities offered by the Kingdom. “They also took a look at the giant industrial projects in Jubail and Yanbu industrial cities, and other projects,” he said. “The upcoming meetings will enable partnerships between Saudi and Indian companies in large projects which offer investment opportunities in both countries. The current meetings in India, Al-Rabi'a added, are also scheduled to discuss ways of streamlining trade and tax issues in both countries, as well as means of boosting industrial cooperation in the fields of energy and petrochemicals.
