DAMMAM: The Eastern Province mayoralty has said that it has stepped up the planting of trees and flowers as the region readies itself to receive visitors during the spring. “Flowers and tress have been planted along the entrances to the major cities and cleaning and services authorities have been tasked with ensuring that markets, squares, coastal areas and sea fronts are all ready for visitors,” the mayoralty said. The mayoralty said it also has teams working both in the morning and evening to ensure compliance with health regulations and safety rules. The municipality of Dhahran has been readying its gardens in residential areas with cleaning and maintenance work ensuring that bathroom facilities and open spaces meet set standards, along with extensive planting of winter flowers in all main streets and gardens of the city. Cleaning work is also under way in Half Moon Beach, with 165 workers tasked with ensuring the popular tourist zone is fully ready to receive visitors. Authorities in the region have also intensified health monitoring rounds, with particular focus on cafeterias and restaurants, while safety inspections are concentrating on children's play areas, amusement rides and sports facilities.
