Abian, President of the Human Rights Commission, has received the delegation of the US Commission on International Religious Freedom led by Leonard Leo. During the meeting, several topics were discussed. Dr. Al-Abian stressed that the firm religious principles of Saudi Arabia cannot be compromised. He further stated that the teachings of Islam welcome constructive dialogue referring to the call by King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, for dialogue among followers of religions, civilizations and cultures which constitutes a message to the whole world on the need for peaceful coexistence and the promotion of the culture of dialogue. Dr. Al-Abian quoted King Abdullah as saying: “Let our dialogue be supportive of faith in the face of atheism, of virtue in the face of vice, of justice in the face of injustice, of peace in the face of conflicts and wars and of human brotherhood in the face of racism”. The delegation discussed a number of issues concerning the work of the Human Rights Commission and its activities in the protection and promotion of human rights guaranteed by the laws of the Kingdom.
