monitoring system, which has been tested in some parts of the area, will soon be fully operational throughout Asir, said Brig. Hanash Abdul Rahman Al-Shihiri, the region's director of Traffic. He said his administration is taking all necessary preparatory measures, to include posting speed limits on roads and streets and installing speed-limit signs in Abha, Khamis Mushayt, Ahd and Rufaida. The signs will be installed before the system is launched, he stressed. Traffic violations have maximum and minimum fines, Brig. Al-Shihiri said, pointing out that Article 73 of the Traffic Law defines conditions for registering them and stipulates that they should be paid within one month. If fines are not paid on time, violators will be made to pay the maximum amount; this information is clearly written in the upper part of the fine slip, he noted. Violations, which are paid through motorists' banks, cannot be paid in installments, he added.
