RASS AZZOOR: A number of new phosphate and aluminum projects were inspected recently by Engineer Ali Bin Ibrahim Al-Naimi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources and Prince Faisal Bin Turki Bin Abdul Aziz, the Adviser at the ministry. The new installations include a phosphate factory and infrastructure and support services of the Saudi Arabian Mining Company. Abdul Rahman Bin Muhammad Abdul Kareem, the Adviser at the ministry, Engineer Abdul Aziz Bin Muhammad Al-Tuwaijri, Chairman of the Saudi Seaports Authority, and Mansour Bin Saleh Al-Maiman, Secretary General of the General Investment Fund, also accompanied the minister on his tour. Al-Maiman said the work on the railway line is in full swing, with 1,213 kilometers of the railway completed and only 166 kilometers remaining. He said the railway links Hazm Al-Jalameed in the north of the Kingdom to Rass Azzoor. He said the locomotives and train's carriages that will be used for transporting the phosphate to Hazm Al-Jalameed have already arrived in preparation for the experimental phase, which will take place in the second quarter of this year. He said the company operating the railway lines is conducting the necessary tests to ensure the readiness of the lines.
