More than 20 organizations from Saudi Arabia, the Gulf area, and Arab countries will take part in an exhibition to be held along with the 7th International Islamic Economy Conference on April 1-3 at King Abdul Aziz University, Jeddah. Local economic institutes, universities, insurance companies, banks and investment groups will also participate in revealing their different experiences and services in the field of Islamic economy. Usamah Bin Abdullah Al-Kheraiji of Arabian Company, the conference?s organizer, said the Islamic event is considered as a unique gathering of different economists and Islamic scholars form all over the world. ?The conference will also host scores of local and international governmental and private financial bodies in addition to other Islamic research centers to introduce the latest solutions to some thorny issues concerning Islamic economic applications? he said. Among the prominent participants, Al-Kheraiji further said, are the Saudi Economic and Development Company (SEDCO), NCB, Al-Taher Group, A-Jeraisy Group, Al-Jazira Bank, Allied Cooperative Insurance Group (ACIG), Arabian Malaysian Takaful Company, Islamic Economic Research Center, Islamic Financing Project at Harvard University, Markfield Institute, and RMIT University in Australia. ?Some 200 researchers and experts will discuss around 25 Islamic economic approaches and all sessions will center around two main key titles: ?30 years of Islamic researches? and ?Contemporary Islamic economic applications? Al-Kheraiji said. KAAU has been holding such an Islamic conference since Feb. 21, 1976 under the auspices of the late King Khalid Bin Abdul Aziz. One of the most outstanding fruits of that early phase is the establishment of the Islamic Economy Research Center at the same university. __
