RIYADH: Etihad Etisalat (Mobily) won the 2010 Middle Eastern Operator of the Year award, organized by leading ITP publication CommsMEA. The award was presented to Mobily at an event in Dubai Tuesday. Mobily's media relations manager Abdullah Al Hariri received the award on behalf of the company. Mobily was recognized with the award due to its exhaustive projects and investments in broadband infrastructure technology, which have driven the telecom sector in Saudi Arabia to be the most dynamic in the region. The panel of judges used three main criteria for the award: a company's financial performance, its investment in market making infrastructure technology and uniqueness of its customer service. During the award gala dinner, Mobily's track record was presented, showing how Mobily had achieved dramatic results in such a short period of time, results which have been recognized with a variety of awards over the years and noted by leading members of the investment banking community. The award itself is an implicit endorsement of Mobily's growth, efficiency, and differentiation strategy for the coming five years, announced earlier this year. The strategy will allow Mobily to maintain and grow its leadership in the data communications segment of the telecommunication sector, add value to the lives of its customers with innovative services, both on the basis of its concern for the welfare of its employees who are tasked with implementing this strategy with the highest levels of professionalism.
