DAMMAM: The Ministry of Haj has said that electronically processed Umrah visa applications will not be canceled should Umrah companies in the Kingdom or their agents abroad be found to have violations registered against their names on ministry's records. According to the undersecretary for Umrah Affairs, Issa Rawas, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told the Ministry of Haj that some Umrah firms had uncovered breaches of contract by their agents abroad and requested that visa applications already lodged through the electronic track system be halted. “Umrah and Haj companies should look into their visa applications thoroughly before sending them to the ministry through the electronic track system, as those visas are irrevocable,” Rawas said. Owners of the Umrah and Haj companies in the Kingdom have for their part urged the ministry to considering allowing the cancellation of visas in such cases, saying that the current system has brought them considerable losses due to foreign agents failing to comply with contract conditions.
