JEDDAH: The first batch of 411 Philippine pilgrims has arrived, Robero M. Mutia, the officer-in-charge at the Philippine Consulate General's office of the Haj attache, said. The first batch, which came last Tuesday, is part of about 3,500 Philippine pilgrims who will perform Haj this year. The first batch included the Philippine medical delegation headed by Dr. Anisa Mapupuno-Laguindab and met the staff of the Philippine Consulate General (PCG). Those present at the meeting were PCG Administrative Officer Abdurrahyem S.Y. Macud, Cultural Officer Amir Hussein D. Alonto, Protocol Officer Faisal Richard A.Tamano, Translator Yahya Datuharon Yayha and Robero M. Mutia. The second batch of 406 pilgrims was expected to arrive Wednesday night also at the Prince Muhammad Bin Abdul Aziz Airport in Madina.
