JEDDAH: The Zamzam Society secured medical services for 3,242 people between the turn of the year and the end of Ramadan, aiding 241 caesarian births and natural deliveries, and providing medication to 190 patients. Zamzam chairman Dr. Adnan Bin Ahmad Al-Bar told Saudi Gazette that the charity helped the needy to obtain medical treatment. “One of our main schemes is to cover the expenses of a variety of surgerical procedures for the poor,” Al-Bar said. “We also take on all related expenses for persons receiving treatment at hospitals and medical centers.” Zamzam also provides complete care for pregnant women from early pregnancy until birth, whether naturally or by caesarian section. “We typically manage to do that in nine months with the help of local donors and benefactors,” he said. The Zamzam Society bases its charity work in Makkah, prioritizing services according to urgency.
