Minister of Labor Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Gosaibi has ordered the establishment of a national recruitment center in Riyadh. The ministry expects that the center will play a vital role in the recruitment of unemployed Saudis and will be especially significant in the private sector. With this new center Al-Gosaibi expects the labor offices to be relieved of trying to find jobs for the unemployed since they already fulfill so many different functions. In addition to recruiting unemployed Saudis to work, Saudis will be provided with technical training to compliment their previous training and education in order to make them feasible additions to the job market. The center will also be equipped with a statistics center which will provide information on the availability of jobs in the private sector. Other agencies will also participate in the center including the General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI), General Establishment for Technical and Vocational Training (GETVT) and Human Recourses Development Fund HRDF. Thus the Ministry of Labor processes the recruitment procedures, GOSI registers the job seekers in the social insurance and the HRDR issues Saudization certificate. Dr. Al-Gosaibi said similar centers would be opened all over the Kingdom if the initial center proves to be a viable success. – Al
