The Ministry of Islamic Affairs has terminated the services of tens of Imams and Khateebs who were not meeting standards and failed to pass development programs and training courses. Dr. Tawfiq Al-Sudairi, Deputy Minister of Islamic Affairs for Mosques Affairs, said those who lost their jobs showed defects in their performances in Friday sermons and did not respond effectively in efforts to help them improve. The ministry tried its best to help the Imams and Khateebs by organizing training courses, but they did not show any signs of improvement and there was no choice but to terminate their services, Dr. Al-Sudairi said. He stressed that the ministry employs Imams and Khateebs after interviewing them and ensuring that they fulfill moral and religious requirements.
