The Control and Investigation Board (CIB) is going to be carrying out inspections at government offices during the upcoming Eid holidays to ensure workers are on duty. Informed sources at the Control and Investigation Board (CIB) said a number of head office and branch employees will carry out the inspections across the Kingdom. They said the aim of the inspections is to make sure employees are coming to work and leaving at the proper times, and to ensure that they are doing the work assigned to them. The CIB carried out inspections before the Eid break, the sources said, adding that inspections take place all year, but are increased during holidays. The rate of absenteeism and late-coming last year was 22 percent. The CIB has also called for the implementation of a fingerprinting system at government offices to keep a record of the arrival and departure of government employees. A CIB source said “it is important to use technology to prove the completion of working hours.” The CIB cannot cover all government agencies with its daily inspections, he said.
