Anezi has come home after spending 12 years in an American prison following his being convicted of causing a traffic accident that killed an American citizen. Al-Anezi, 40, arrived at King Abdul Aziz International Airport in Jeddah, where he was met by his father and more than 30 of his relatives. He told Okaz/Saudi Gazette he will not talk to the press about his imprisonment or the traffic accident. “I'm happy that I have returned to my country and reunited with my family after all these years,” he said. Informed sources said a government agency sent Al-Anezi to a training course in the US, where he was convicted of causing a fatal traffic accident. The Saudi embassy made unsuccessful efforts to reduce his sentence, sources added. Al-Anezi's father and relatives arrived at the airport three hours before his plane arrived and waited there despite the failure of the airport's air-conditioning system. When Al-Anezi arrived, a big tear rolled down his father's cheek.
